Day 9

For the last day of the nine days of Jerry, I picked the last song that he sang with the Grateful Dead on 7-9-95 at Soldier Field in Chicago, IL.

today's horriblescope...

Today you might be extra focused your personal relationships, PHILLIP. There could be an issue that you have not yet resolved with a family member, or a confrontation that you have been putting off with a friend or acquaintance. These matters will certainly be swimming around in your head. If you feel ready, pick up the phone and schedule a time to talk things through. You will feel better after taking this small first step.

some sad news...

I read this today.  I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Clements perform at a bluegrass festival in Columbus OH last spring.  Peter Rowan was playing a solo acoustic set when Vassar came out to join him for "The First Whippoorwill".  Then Vassar played his scheduled set with the John Cowan band.  Then he joined J.D. Crowe, Tony Rice,Peter Rowan, and Ricky Simpkins for an all star set.

That whole one day festival was one of the highpoints to last summer.  I was going to go see John Prine locally, but I opted to go to Columbus, partly because there's times when you really need a road trip, and because I thought I should go see Vassar when I had the chance, I'm really glad I did now.
