captain_philI got back to the ranch at about 11 on Friday, napped and didn't do a lot else. Saturday's plans were to go to a Geocacheing event in Cinci with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
yourbasketbuddy, so I left early Saturday morning, made it here and notice a cache was just hidden on friday, and noone found it yet, so I headed out to find it, get gas and other essentials for the trip up. I logged my first FTF, and then we headed up to The Queen City, we were cutting it close to the event time, which was going to be over at 1:15 so we went to Mecklenburg Gardens for lunch. only to find it wasn't open (I later found they open at 5 on Saturday, I guess there's not much call for german food on weekends in that part of the city). We went to Newport on the Levee for lunch at The Claddagh, where the portions are unreal (even the child's order of chicken tenders at the table next to us was large). The Levee area was abuzz with activities, including a guy on stilts making balloon animals, a magician (he was great!), and on the purple bridge, a cornhole tournament. After finishing lunch we went to Jungle Jim's, where I only spent 83 dollars, 25 was on Jelly Belly Gourmet Jelly Beans, the rest on various beers including some Rogue Yellow Snow IPA, an Abita Andygator, some offerings from the mysterious Mt. Caramel Brewing Company, a double semicoe IPA, and a couple of others to round out the 6 pack.
I'm back at home for a week, then next Sunday I'm heading back to MD for another week, then it's back here on Friday, then I have to be in Lexington for judging at the Lexington Beer Festival. Then who knows?
