Sep. 7th, 2005 06:47 amfor those following the tale of the explosion in Kenova a couple of weeks ago, no news yet, but as
sharkbait pointed out to me yesterday, MU football has started up again so all the available resources of the entire local media will go to covering anything related to that.
Humpday Wrap up..
Sep. 7th, 2005 10:22 pmWork today was fairly busy, I dropped my truck off at the hydraulic shop for some repairs, and then headed to Skyline Drive to cut in a node and set up some amps. That took most of the day, after coming home it was off to some errands and then to Starbucks for a mercy mission for
sharkbait and Jenny. I dropped off the coffee, hung out at the hospital for a while, bought lottery tickets, then headed back to the house.
At Pullman Square a local radio station was holding a benefit show for Hurricane Relief. They raised about $15,000 since about 5AM this morning. Before hitting Starbucks I listened to a pretty good bluegrass band, named "The Paddlin Pickers", and "Big Rock and the Candy Ass Mountain Boys", a local jazzy swing type band. I recognized the bassist as one of the judges from the Brewfest last month. I also saw local fiddle player Joe Dobbs there. It looked like a pretty good turnout, I wish I'd of known about it beforehand, but it was a pleasant surprise.
That's about it for this evening, the coffee is about to wear off and tomorrow is a work day.
