odds and ends
Jan. 15th, 2013 06:26 amI'm still not sure what to think about the new and improved on call schedule, I like the part about being on call just 9 times a year, as opposed to the past few years.
Since I wasn't on call last weekend and the weather was warm, I finished up the ExploreWV Geocoin Challenge, and also the Haunted WV Challenge. Since the ones I needed to finish were scattered all over creation, I took care of the northern ones on Saturday. First off was a puzzle cache that I couldn't figure out before but thanks to a hint from a friend I got it. Then it was across state to go to the Parkersburg area to get one at the Fenton Glass factory. This one was inside the shop, so before I asked for the cache I looked around. Really beautiful and amazing items, with really high prices. I signed the log on the cache and it was time for lunch, conveniently I was across the river from the Marietta Brewing Company. I had a glass of Front Street Pale Ale, and a Bacon Beer Cheese burger before heading to Mothman Country. The one at the TNT area took a bit since I had GPS drift, plus I was running low on gas so I gassed up, changed batteries, went back and found it. On the way home I got a milkshake from McClure's in Gallipolis.
Sunday I headed south to get one in Matewan and one out in the boonies. After those it was back home for some laundry and watching football.
It's a short work week here, I took a vacation day this coming Friday to go catch a Robert Earl Keen show. because The Road Goes On Forever, The Party Never Ends
