Wrap-up time
Dec. 23rd, 2013 06:23 amDespite striking out on my quest for Cold Mountain, the trip to Asheville was great. I missed my goal of a cache in 7 states, but did get 10 caches in 5 states so I am qualified to log a challenge cache in Indiana now.
I tried a couple of newer breweries while in town, Burial Brewing, and Wicked Weed. Both were excellent, I had a couple of sours from Wicked Weed, and a really good coffee stout from Burial (served with a donut hole).
The show was great, I made it about 4 songs into Widespread Panic's set the first night, and to the start of Grace Potter's set. The Greg Allman/Warren Haynes acoustic set was the highlight from the first night. I liked The ARU set too. The second night wasn't as exciting. I lost a lot of steam during Michael Franti's set. I like one or two of his songs, but past that they all sound the same to me. Greg Allman's set Saturday night was great though.
On the way back I stopped at a few of the scenic overlooks since the weather was actually nice, I also stopped off at a Big Green Egg dealer to pick up a part for mine. I can cook with indirect heat again! Pizza and cookies once more.
Back to work was hectic, with splicing and fixing problems that the service dept was unable to take care of for whatever reason, usually a lack of time due to some complex formula for workforce utilization and efficiency formulated by the accountingdept team.
A storm hit late Saturday night, so yesterday was spent messing with generators. I ended up with 16 hours OT. I was dragging when I got home though, at least I slept well last night.
