questionoftheday asks: Have you ever "rediscovered" a musical artist that more or less shaped your youth? Who is the artist? How does their music affect you today?

My answer:

they lost me as a fan sometime past Joshua Tree, but I've been listening to u2 again lately. The Unforgettable Fire is one of my favorites of theirs.

I still like Big Country better from that era.
