Bockfest recap
Mar. 15th, 2023 05:47 amWe managed to leave in between storm cells and be on the way to Cincinnati. We headed to a local bakery for some carbs before heading to Madtree brewing for more carbs. Great pizza from Catch a Fire pizza. We hoped to catch one of our friends but she was working.
We went to Arnold's but it was way too packed, after splitting a Weihenstephaner Korbinian. We hopped the streetcar to Sam Adams for a bit and headed back to thr hotel.
Saturday was the 5k, I got up early and headed over around 830 or 9. A lot of the more hardcore runners were already running to warm up so I thought I was late. I realized they were the hard ore ones so I found the sign in area and got ready. It was a fun hour. Along the course were street musicians, people day drinking on the porch cheering and a polka band playing Ozzy Osborne. I finished in under an hour. Tried to find a beer line for my two freebies.
I was able to get in the beer line and get my two beers at about the time Susan and Beth showed up to go get lunch so I chugged two billy goat bocks from Sonder and we went to Ford's Garage.
After Lunch we met up with some folks from the homebrew club and had various beers. Gee your band smells terrific came on later that evening, and of course I did the time warp.
Was moving kinda slow Sunday morning but we all rallied in time for the .05k. Another really good local band, the hot magnolias, was playing so I watched them while getting ready for the .05k.
I did take a recovery day this year, should of taken two.
