Last night was a trip to Charleston for a taping of NPR radio show "" with
puck_nut. I arrived a bit early, but not early enough as the lot was packed, including a first, some people tailgating before the show. We found some good seats and soon Andy Ridenour and Larry Groce went through the pre show routine. First up was Charlottesville VA based "Old School Freight Train", Very good jamgrass styled band. I expect to hear good things from them in the future.
Madeleine Peyroux was up next. She wasn't very well recieved, other than just polite applause and a sigh of relief when her set was over. Note to promoters, don't book an artist with a French Caberet style of singing on the same bill as three bluegrass bands.
Next was Mountain Heart, these guys were just incredible. Very high energy show, plus they interacted a lot with the audience.
Robert Earl Keen was up next, he dished out a few tracks from his upcoming CD, and also a couple from "Farm Fresh Onions", including "So Sorry Blues",which he performed laying down on the stage for most of the song.
The Del McCoury Band was next, and judging from the audience reaction, they were who the vast majority of the audience had come to see. They played a couple of songs of of their upcoming CD, and were about to close with another new one when Del mentioned that they usually take requests but didn't take any this time, to which the audience replied "52 Vincent Black Lighting". Del and the band opted to play that instead of their new one.
The traditional end of show jam was great, three fiddles, two banjos, various mandolins, and a couple of guitars.
Now it's Today you could feel a lot better about your romantic life, PHILLIP. You'll feel an increased sense of clarity and peace in your personal relationships. You might have perspective on a relationship that has been challenging. You'll suddenly feel clear about what you should do, and you will feel good about the choices that you are making. Act on your instincts today, because they will guide you in the right direction.
