One hour and counting...
Mar. 13th, 2004 09:33 amI'm on my second pot of espresso, and a villar has been lit. I think I've found a way to keep the humidor properly humidified without much problem. I picked up a couple of jars of a gel that regulates humidity, I just have to check the level of the gel from time to time and refill it with distilled water.
I just finished flipping thru the TV channels and can't find anything interesting to watch. I thought Tony Little's 15 minutes of fame ended back in the early 90s, but no, he's back.
I probably shouldn't be listening to Jerry Douglas this morning, the last thing I need is a case of Dobro Fever, I think it will hit me more severe than Mandolin Fever. At least with a mandolin, I can justify not rushing out and buying one because it's a totally different instrument than what I'm used to, but I can play slide on a guitar (yep
puck_nut and
sharkbait, just put a black shirt and a wig on me and call me "Warren Light"), so there wouldn't be much adjustment to a dobro other than the playing position.
ok, I just changed my preferences on Music Match to "Dire Straits" and the first song featured, a Dobro. Noooooooooooooo. Mark Knopfler is one of my favorite guitarists. I even forgive him for recording "Calling Elvis", what an awful song, but "Sultans of Swing", and "Skateaway" make up for it.
I went Walmarting this morning, my big purchase was the movie version of "Dudley Do-Right" for about five bucks. Woohoo!!
Now I'm listening to a new ZZ TOP track called "Buck Nekkid", a very lovely tune.
