My trip back to Lewisburg was cut short due to illness. I made it back to The Ranch this evening and I'm downing some Taco Bell food, hopefully this will shock my system back into functioning.
It was kinda sad walking the street of the old hometown, I walked past one of the local restaurants that I saw from it's beginning days as a converted garage to it's demise of going from a casual coffee/soup/sandwich shop to a medium scale restaurant. Now it's vacant. It was really sad walking past "Gwen's Kitchen", a local landmark since the late 40s/early 50s, and run by the late Mrs Clingman from then until her passing last year. Now it's the home of an Art Gallery, as are most of the buildings downtown.
I had what I believe to be the worst cup of coffee I've ever had in my life this weekend (including the coffee from a fishing pier on the Outer Banks of NC), This place sold *overexaggeration for comic effect mode on* "Organically small farm grown, hand picked by barefoot virgins with fresh cut flowers in their hair and roasted no more than seven days before being sold", plus it was in a town full of art galleries so I figured a cup of Sumatran would be good. I was wrong! It was BAD! So much for supporting locally owned small businesses.
