I got the New Buffett CD today! Track by Track info
Hey Good Looking- A pretty fun cover of a country classic featuring Clint Black, Kenney Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, and George Strait
Boats to Build- Buffett and Alan Jackson singing one of my favorite Guy Clark tunes. How can it be bad?
License To Chill- This is going to be the song on the CD that will take a few listens for it to grow on me.
Coast of Carolina- I really like this song a lot. probably as far as lyrics go my favorite.
Piece of Work- Buffett and Toby Keith. This one gets two thumbs up. Oh yeah, Billy Payne from The Feat on Piano on this one! Damn!!
Anything, Anytime, Anywhere- Vintage Country Sounding tune, I'd like to see this one added to his live shows.
Trip Around The Sun- with Martina McBride- I'm not too crazy about this song.
Simply Complicated- Destined to Be Classic! Great Lyrics, It will really prompt me to skip over Trip Around The Sun!
Coastal Confessions- This is a good one!
Sea of Hearbreak- Buffett and George Strait. I've always liked George Strait, even before I found out that he plays a Taylor!
Conky Tonkin'- I'm sure this one will grow on me, it might take a few listens.
Playin The Loser Again- a real tear in my beer sounding country tune with Bill Withers. I wish I wasn't on call, I feel like having a cold one right now!
WIndow on the World- I think this one's going to be another favorite from the CD
Someone I used to Love- I probably would have liked this one better, but Nanci Griffith's voice kinda irritates me. It would have sounded better with Emmylou Harris, or Allison Krauss. But then what wouldn't sound better with Allison?
Scarlet Begonias- Buffett covering one of my favorite Grateful Dead songs!!! It's odd hearing the actual end of the song, but the trade off is better Nadira singing harmony instead of Donna's horrid screeching.
Back to the Island- Nice tune to close out the CD. I think it's one of his best recordings in ages. I didn't care much for the post "Barometer Soup" releases. THis one only has two songs that will take a while to grow on me, and one that most likely I'll skip past. I give the CD a B+
Work today wasn't too bad, some locates, mostly service calls. nothing noteworthy
Here's my horriblescope for Today you could be eager to push forward in a new direction,
PHILLIP. You could be inspired to take up a challenging new project. Maybe you
will decide to get into better physical shape. You could take up a new sport and
start sharpening your skills. Or you could decide to hit the gym more regularly
and start firming up those muscles. You'll feel good if you take greater control
of your life
