The Buffalo Trace Distillery tour was great! I would recommend it to anyone with even the slightest interest in Bourbon. Freddie (a third generation distillery employee), was incredible. He told us that if they stopped production today, that there was enough bourbon in various warehouses on site to last 20 years. One thing that I thought was neat was there was the smallest bonded warehouse in the world. This warehouse only houses one barrel at a time, and is used for every millionth barrel produced and also the last barrel produced during the last century. Freddie's Dad placed every barrel in that warehouse since it was built in 1952, and has been invited to place the 6 millionth barrel which is scheduled to be completed in Mid May. Freddie said his Dad told them they'd better hurry with the 6 millionth barrel because he doesn't much more barrel rolling left in him (He's 93). After the tour we went to the tasting room and sampled their Rain Vodka, Buffalo Trace, and a 10 year old single barrel bourbon called "Eagle Rare", which I really liked a lot. We also tried some dark chocolate bourbon candy served with a root beer made in Minnesota that. This unlikely combination tasted great together. After buying some Merchandise it was off to one of the locations of Liquor Barn, unfortunately they didn't have any Old Guardian so I got a couple of bottles of the 2008 Bigfoot, a couple of porters made by Arcadia Brewing, a bottle of Ruination, and another IPA.
After dinner at Ruby Tuesday's (featuring nearly nonexistant service, and a misleading beer list), it was a short walk to Comedy off Broadway. Vinnie Coppola was the first comic. His routine was pretty funny, and included Italians living in Georgia, Greyhound Busses, and The Olive Garden. James Gregory was great as usual, his routine covered healthy foods, running, trailer parks, tornados, and food at funerals.
I dozed off before the race ended so I didn't know the outcome until this morning, At least Shrub didn't win it this time. I made a Hardee's and Starbucks run this morning, and once again I got a free coffee, they had just run out and were brewing a fresh batch of Pike Place. I have no problem with waiting 4 minutes for a free coffee, or a free anything else for that matter.
Meanwhile, in New Orleans last night it looks like Gov't Mule,

They have found someone more nervewrackin' than Rachael Ray on the Food Channel. I lasted 5 minutes into "Cooking for Real" this morning. Sunny was cooking baked mac and cheese and meatloaf pan fried in pepper rings (a good idea actually)
