I actually got out of bed early enough to get to Frankfort at a decen hour so
yourbasketbuddy headed out to Christ the King Church's Oktoberfest in Lexington, we wandered around, listened to a local band, I had a Brat with Kraut along with a Sam Adams Oktoberfest Beer, and a Kolsch style from Lexington Brewing Company(sold as KY Light) in a huge mug(yes I bought beer and drank it on church grounds). On the way we hit a couple of yard sales including one that we hit at the right time, they were getting ready to pack it in for the day, so he gave us all of the clothing he was going to sell, Paula's trunk is full of freebies.
Next stop was in Millville, KY for their Hillbilly Daze festival we listened to a local band, and had some top notch bbq along with sides from Wholly Smokers BBQ, awesome food, huge portions and very reasonably priced. I'll be sure to keep a lookout for them in the future. On the way back we found a couple of abandoned distillerys. One was the Old Taylor Distillery and the Old Crow Distillery.
Peectures were taken, I'll post them as soon as they are off the camera.
