Oct. 16th, 2008 07:01 amThe bad thing about living in a tristate area is three states worth of election commercials. I'll be glad when it's over and Natalie Tennant's commercial can be mothballed until the next time and the pizza genie can come back. Maybe she can have an election genie next time, sure she learned the value of hard work on the family farm, and broke new ground as the first woman to be the WVU Mascot, but having a genie show up and say "Ohhhhh Snap!! Here's the votes you need!!"
Ok. I'm still reeling from yesterday. I got called out for about an hour or so Tuesday night, getting to bed at 11:30, getting up at 1-ish, heading to the spring valley hubsite, getting back to the house at 4:30, sleeping for an hour, working 8 hours, sleeping for another hour when getting in, going out on a call for an hour last night, stopping for groceries on the way home, and finally collapsing at about 9:30 and getting out of bed around 5.
Usually when I have that kind of sleep patterns I'm at some kind of event with "fest" at the end of it.
and just because...
Robert Keen tells a story during The Front Porch Song (one of my favorites)
"This old porch is just a long time of waiting and forgetting
Remembering the coming back and not crying about the leaving
And remembering the falling down and the laughter of the curse of luck
From all those son's of bitches who said we'd never get back up"
