Another Saturday Night...
Sep. 18th, 2004 08:00 pmI found this about the NHL Lookout today. It really makes me wish that Huntington had been more supportive of a hockey team. I guess if their team colors had been green and white and they would have been named the "Huntington Thundering Herd" then they might have lasted another season or two, but then who knows. The really piss poor coverage the local media gave them really contributed to their lousy attendance. Whenever they had a film crew at the games they always showed the one or two people sitting in a nearly empty section. What really got me was, they were in the playoffs for the first time in team history, and where was the local media? In Greenup KY interviewing people at Wendy's about the flock of seagulls that got lost and ended up in the parking lot. Oh well, it's too late to do anything about that now. Hopefully if anyone ever brings a team back to the tristate they'll really investigate what the Blizzard administration did wrong, and go from there.
It was mullet day today, I saw about 10 people sporting mullets today. I wish I still had one :)
I'm still cruising on my "rediscovery" of Kansas. Steinhardt is pretty much the blood, guts, and soul of Kansas. I'm a bit biased. Nothing like violins. Too bad they didn't have a sax player, 'cause there's nothing I like better than Sax and Violins (stolen from an episode of laugh in I saw ages ago)
That's really all I have for today, unless my lottery #s turn up then I'll be sure to post all about it :)
