captain_philFun week on call. It started Friday when I had just closed my eyes to go to sleep an outage came in. Modem problems on the outskirts of Proctorville. I headed up and at 10:30 I saw that it was a bad case of common path distortion. Otherwise known as a hellish problem to fix.
Luckily there is a way to make it go away so I did the 10:30 at night fix and went home. I went out Saturday morning to try to chase it down but it was gone again. It did pop back in a few times over the weekend but no calls came in on it.
After a few days we finally narrowed it down and spent the day changing out parts, and tightening connectors and it hasn't been back since.
Otherwise it's been a quiet week, with 4 hours OT this week.
As much as I'd like to sit around in my duluth trading briefs and listen to tunes. I gotta get dressed and go to work.
