Today you should pay attention to those gut instincts of yours,
PHILLIP. Sometimes you have strong intuitive abilities. When you act on your
hunches, you're usually right. The problem is that you don't always have the
confidence to trust the impressions that you receive. Today you should act on
those impulses that come to you. They could help you sort through an important
issue in your personal or professional life.

hey, last time I took one of these I was sloth )

I'm getting some coffee in my system before I start on chores.

Not really a lot goin on (that's GOIN, not GROIN [livejournal.com profile] sharkbait) this morning, just the dog driving me crazy.

I got a new catalog from JR Cigars yesterday, I did a double take when I saw this . For those not familiar with cigar ring sizes, they are in 64ths of an inch diameter of the cigar. That makes this one almost one inch in diameter. It's entirely too easy to make a Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky comment, so I'll spare you.

that shock collar must be working eh? [livejournal.com profile] sharkbait, [livejournal.com profile] puck_nut?

Not a bad price on them though, but I don't have the storage space for them so I'll pass.

that's it for now

gotta run and get chores done before the Steelers game/ Race/ and pool on espn comes on.

and the season premiere of King of the Hill tonight! what a day for TV :)

I'm taking a break from mowing, since I had to bail out on it, I figured it was a good time for lunch

and the weekly horriblescope )

actually the only reason I'm abandoning lawn mowing is that my mower is stranded at the bottom of the hill. After nearing flipping it earlier, I took that as a sign from a higher power that maybe I shouldn't mow today :)

yeah that's it :)

Looks like there aren't any more undefeated teams in the NFL....

Go Steelers!!!

I got most of the lawn mowed today, taking a break to watch the Steelers destroy the Eagles.

I start call tomorrow, and the cheif tech told me that the powers that be at corporate want to do some re-routing of fiber, and installing a link so that the fiber optic run to Greenup will be shortened up by about 6 or 7 miles. Other than that, I'm hoping for a typical week at work, whatever that is.

On my to do list for the week, apart from the usual, is to get in touch with a propane dealership so I can use my fireplace and the heater in the garage, get the living room/kitchen in order, hang some pictures in the guitar room. including this recent addition )

I'm also going to dig out my old flytying stuff and try to get back into that. I used to really enjoy tying flies, plus I'm sure it will help me develop the manual dexterity needed to splice fiber optic cable. yeah that's it.

Since my earlier post of Sandstone Falls was such a hit, here's another picture of the falls ). If you look very closely you can see a couple of people fishing on the rocks.

That's all for now, time for King of The Hill, and who knows, I might make an appearance on IRC.

[livejournal.com profile] peachestavern gave me the idea for this new weekly feature, I'm going to discuss one CD/Artist in my collection. I'm going to call this feature "What the %#*$ is he listening to now?"

It worked out pretty good that the closest uncommon CD was within arms reach. The CD is known simply as "The Pizza Tapes", recorded by Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, and Tony Rice. If you are looking for a slickly produced recording, this isn't the CD for you. This CD is a recording of a once in a lifetime jam session featuring three of the greatest acoustic musicians who have ever lived. The review on the link says everything I was going to say, so I won't delve to far into that, so I'll just go into why I enjoy this CD so much.

I've always been a fan of the individual work of these artists, so I knew that I wouldn't be disappointed by this recording.

I really like how informal it is, the mistakes, banter, and cutting up really show the human side of these legends. There's one track that is just the three of them laughing and playing commercial jingles, and a TV theme or two.

I really enjoyed their choice of songs, mostly traditional bluegrass/gospel songs, plus "Knockin on Heaven's Door".

The picking on this is top notch, but then that is to be expected. I've had this CD for years and I'm still finding things on it that I wish I could play.

I recommend this CD for any fan of acoustic music, very relaxing.

That's it for the premiere edition of "What the &#@$ is he listening to now?" any feedback will be appreciated.

uhhhh

anyone seen the new burgerking commercial for the "chickenfight"? Isn't that illegal?

I wonder if they tie the chickens to barrells when they aren't fighting?
