Since a few of you were having problems with the pictures from photobucket, i put them on kodak as well.

Might as well do a recap too.

I overslept a bit yesterday, so I hit the AA and made it here in time for registration and for the tour. I got all kinds of goodies at registration, including a bottle of Fireball Mead, a Bottle of Imperial Cream Ale, a glass, some yeast, assorted coupons and posters, a magnet, a pen, a bottle opener, and a lanyard/badge. The tour was nice, The first stop was Mecklenburg Gardens for lunch and beer. The food here was excellent. I had a Optimator with lunch. Mr. Bruckman showed us where the old breweries stood and told us about the history of Germans in Cincinnati and how they came to settle there.

I had a Celebrator at Grammer's. Mr. Tarbell talked briefly about the history of Grammer's and how it looked when he bought it. He said that it took two people 6 weeks to clean the year's worth of tar and nicotine from the walls and the bar.

After the tour I checked into the hotel and went to "Dos Amigos Tequila" restaurant. I had Fajitas and a 36 ounce Dos Equis. I'm stewarding this morning's judging session so I have to be over at the hotel by 8.

This morning's session of judging went well, The table I was stewarding was judging Smoke Flavored and Wood Aged beers. I don't know if I can develop a taste for smoke flavoring in beer, some were just a tad too smokey. I did like the "Imperial American Amber Aged with Rum Soaked Oak" though. I didn't realize it at the time but one of the judges at the table had written a book that I bought recently, and another author was judging at the table behind me. That says a lot about the qualifications of the judges for this event.

After lunch I went to the Hospitality Suite and stayed too long to make it to the seminar on Hop Substitution that was going on, which is probably a good thing since the speaker looked a lot like Samuel L. Jackson. I can imagine him saying "That's It!! I have had it with this Muthafuckin shortage of these Muthafuckin Hops!"

I signed up for a couple of drawings, and picked up a sample of sanitzer and some barley seeds so I can grow my own.

To celebrate me becoming a barley farmer, here's this youtube find.

oh! I had dinner here today. The sides rock! and while out and about I found Costco, and Chuck E. Cheese. So.... Take a guess as to what song is stuck in my head now.
