I'm still recovering from the weekend of adventure so I'm going to be lazy with "Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs of Warren Zevon"

It's a decent tribute to Mr Zevon, here we go, by the tracks....

1. Don Henley: "Searching for a Heart".  Not too bad a rendition.  One of the best on the CD.

2.  Adam Sandler: "Werewolves of London".  The Surprise of the CD.  Adam does a really good cover of this song.  He makes it his own while being true to the original, and he can actually sing, as opposed to.....

3.  Steve Earle : "Reconsider Me".   I confess that my opinion of Steve Earle was lowered by seeing him do an acoustic show a while back. That being said.  Steve Earle should have either spit the shit out of his mouth before he started singing, or chosen a song that didn't require actual singing.

4.  Jackson Browne with Bonnie Raitt "Poor Poor Pitiful Me":  Jackson Browne seems to just kinda go through the motions when he sings this song.  Bonnie Raitt proves that she can still play guitar quite well.  I had my doubts after her last few CDs.  She should have sang this one as well.  Linda Rondstat and Terri Clark have both done great covers of this song, and I'm sure Bonnie would have done so as well.

5.  Bruce Springsteen "My Ride's Here":  This was recorded shortly after Zevon's death.  Springsteen does a great version of this tune.  almost worth the price of purchase, and I'm not a huge Springsteen fan.

6.  The Wallflowers "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" :   another great cover by an artist that surprised me

7.  Jordan Zevon "Studebaker" WOW!  Great voice and piano playing,  I wonder where he got that from?

8.  Billie Bob Thorton "The Wind"  I'm not to familiar with BBT's work other than a couple of movies (one of which I'll pretend I never saw), so I don't really have any point of reference to use to judge the vocals other than, Steve Earle shoulda taken a cue from Billie Bob and not covered a song that requires singing.  I kinda like this song for some reason.

9.  Pete Yorn  "Splendid Isolation" :  I've never heard of this guy before, but after hearing this, I need to check out some more of his stuff.

10.  Bob Dylan  "Mutineer" :  I admit I never really got into the whole Bob Dylan scene.  He's a great lyricist, but his singing leaves a lot to be desired.

11.  David Lindley and Ry Cooder "Monkey Wash, Donkey Rinse":   I really like the uptempo zydeco/reggae influence on this song.

12.  Jill Sobule "Don't Let us Get Sick"  :  If she really didn't want people to get sick, she wouldn't have recorded this song.  UGH.  She sounds like Donna Lewis trying to do a really bad Dolly Parton imitation.  and then there's the horn arrangement.  UGH again.

13.  The Pixies "Ain't That Pretty At All":  I'm not really a Pixies fan, but I kinda like their treatment of this song.

14.  Jorge' Calderon and Jennifer Warnes "Keep Me In Your Heart" Great finish to this CD.  The string arrangement on it is great.  This song should have gotten the Grammy last year for song of the year, just for the lyrics (coming up this Friday)

Not a bad CD, just a couple of tunes I'll skip past.
