I just checked on Buffettnews and there's a new CD coming out here's the
Jimmy Buffett's new studio album "License to Chill" is due out either March or April 2004.
Songs that are know to be on the new album:
1. License to Chill - Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett vocals
2. Scarlet Begonia's - a cover of a Grateful Dead song
3. Back to the Islands - Leon Russell cover
4. Piece of Work - a song by Will Kimbrough
5. Anything, Anytime, Anyway
This record is apparently Buffett's answer to Alan Jackson for having Buffett on his record. It will definitely have a country flavor. There will be another session in Nashville the first of the year. Others to be on the record are: Tobey Keith, (Piece of Work), Alan Jackson, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and maybe Nancy Griffith.
This album was originally titled "Conchy Tonk", but the name was changed most likely because of a copyright issue.
I'm really looking forward to hearing his cover of "Scarlet Begonias", It's the best of two worlds, just like when he covered "Uncle Johns Band" on "Fruitcakes"
