As of 4:45 today, the radio has been turned off on the bucket truck, and it has been parked. Uioli week starts now (use it or lose it), 9 days off and the only plan is heading to Cinci with [livejournal.com profile] sharkbait, [livejournal.com profile] puck_nut, and Dale to see Mule tomorrow night. So far the only thing close to a solid plan is the Mule show and a visit to The Party Source, but what more do ya need?

Uneventful day at work, and nothing really outstanding to report today.

I found an old Little Feat show online from about the time I started listening to them. I remember the first time I heard "Hate to lose your lovin" drifting in and out from a station out of the Blacksburg/Roanoke VA area. The stations probably a hot country station now. I love the pairing of "That's Her, She's Mine" and "Fat Man in the Bathtub". They just flow together so well. I also dig Sam "I AM!" Clayton's backing vocals, mainly since I can sing like him.

now I'm inspired to post some Feat Lyrics,

Willin'
-- Lowell George

I was warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty and don't ya know, I'm still
Was out on the road late at night, I seen my pretty Alice in every head light
Alice, Dallas Alice

And I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
And you show me a sign
Well I'll be willin', to be movin'

Was kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stoved in and I'm still on my feet and I'm still...
Right here in Roseland in Portland Oregon
Now I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico
Baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico, and I'm still

And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
and then you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin'

and as much as I like some of Garth Brooks early work, I'm glad I heard Little Feat lay down some "Dixie Chicken" before I heard his attempt at it.

It's time to start getting ready for tomorrow journey.. look out world!!
