Yesterday's adventure started out for me around 8 when I went to the bank, then to Starbucks to pick up a couple of JFKs for the trip. Then I picked up
sharkbait and headed towards Cinci, stopping at Greenup KY for fuel, lottery tickets, and assorted junk food. Then it was onto the Zzzzzz Highway, I mean the AA highway. We hit the mall around 12:30/1:00 ish, hit a few stores and headed towards the Party Source to rendezvous with
puck_nut and Dale. We bought some booze and other goodies then had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. Then it was over to town to get ready for the show. We had time to kill so we went to The Rock Bottom Brewery. Great beer and an awesome looking menu. after some beers we walked over to The Taft for the show. The opening act was a pretty good band called Tea Leaf Green.
Warren came out and joined them for a song, and then later a couple of the guys from Tea Leaf Green joined Mule for a tune.
As far as the Mule show went.. DAMN! Quite possibly the best show I've ever seen. And then for the encore.... Peter Frampton joined them for a couple of songs!
Thorazine Shuffle
Painted Silver Light
T. Beck
Beautifully Broken
Larger Than Life
King's Highway
Monkey Hill
She's So Heavy
Soulshine
Intermission
Perfect Shelter
Mr. Man
Bad Man Walking
That's What Love Can Make You Do (featuring the keyboardist and Guitarist from Tea Leaf Green)
Dreams to Remember? (not for sure, since I'm translating from a text messaged post to Emule)
Towering Fool
I'll be the one
Mule/I've been Workin/Mule
Encore
I believe
Born Under a Bad Sign
both with Peter Frampton
Then it was back to the parking lot where goodbyes were said and we hit the AA back. We stopped off for some White Castle and later for fuel and Mountain Dew. I dropped Sharky off and came back to the ranch, getting to bed at about 3 AM. I dozed off for about 5 hours, had breakfast and that takes us all up to now.
I unloaded my goodies from yesterday including a bottle of 2005 Beaujolais Nouveau, a bottle of Great Divide Brewing Company Yeti Imperial Stout, and a CAO Sopranos Cigar..
All in all it was a nearly perfect day yesterday, About the only bad part was the weather. But great friends, good food, good beer and a killer Mule show with Peter Frampton dropping by all made up for the lousy weather.
now for today's
Today you might be in an expansive and optimistic mood, PHILLIP. You'll be full of a positive attitude and a good feeling about your life. From this perspective, you will be more patient about other people's frailties. If someone throws a lot of negative energy at you today, you'll be able to forgive them and treat them with compassion and understanding. You might feel like you have a spiritual attitude today.
Thanks go out to
sharkbait for the goodies from Memphis, I guess I'll have some new recipes to try out.
and also to
nuveeena for the CDs, I'll give them a listen this afternoon.
That's all for now.....
