captain_philToday at work I found out that I was going to be working with a construction crew today, helping to set some poles so that we can run fiber optics to link the schools in Boyd County. We get some poles loaded up and wait until the fog lifts and drive to the Board of Education office. At the office there are no stakes set as to where the pole is to go, no other utilities marked etc. We take a wheel and mark off where the pole should be and it's located in a totally unacceptable location due to power lines etc. We found another shorter easier way that the fiber can be run so we'll have to check with someone on that. At the other place where we go to set poles, there is one stake, so we put a pole up, but the other one is questionable.
It took 5 people an entire day to get one pole set. It's a good thing we get paid by the hour.
I'm going to clean out the fridge and cabinets this evening, and clean up the kitchen, but first I think 'll browse my J.R. Cigar Catalog. I gotta do some research before summer rolls around ya know :)
