two shows for one low price
Mar. 27th, 2004 09:34 amLast Night's Steve Earle show was two shows for one low price. The first show was a talented singer/songwriter, the second was what
puck_nut refered to as "Redneck Hell". That pretty much summed it up.
One guy cut loose with a "Woooooo" every 30 seconds or so regardless of what was going on, it got to the point where Steve said "I wish you'd quit doing that, especially in the middle of a song, it's starting to piss me off" Eventually this guy was tossed out. One of the guys in the VIP seats brought beers to the guys who were sitting behind the ejectee and later tried to get them to move down to the front.
The couple on the aisle was very interesting too. Extremely Drunk, yelling out for Steve to play "Coppersnake", or something like that. They got tossed as well. Personally I was glad because I had this fear that her Hooter's shirt was going to come off before the end of the evening.
Not on to the other show.
puck_nut will have to refresh my memory about the opener. My short term memory isn't what it used to be. She was really good though.
Steve Earle was great. He played for about 2 hours or so. Some of the highlights were "Devil's Right Hand", and his radio staples "Guitar Town", and "Copperhead Road".
I'm sure I'll think of more details later.
