"Let My Inspiration Flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...."
I thought it was neat to learn that the first line of "Terrapn Station" is an invocation, similar to that used in Greek drama, or maybe it's just a case of me being far too literate for my own good.
As a wannabe writer, finding that source of inspiration takes odd forms. One of the things stirring in the back of my head is the tale of two aged prostitutes who now work as waitresses in a diner. It stems from seeing a woman who worked at a local restaurant(more like a soup kitchen, but that's another tale for another boring Saturday night) dressed to the nines going to a show at Carnegie Hall with another woman close to her age. According to local rumor back in the day she was a very popular lady of the evening. I couldn't help but think about the two of them reminsicing and talking shop.
Another idea simmering in the back of my head is the tale of a Deadhead who started going to auto racing for the party atmosphere.
The idea for that one came from seeing a car with a Grateful Dead sticker next to a Dale Earnhardt sticker on the WV turnpike.
So with the kind of ideas I have for writing it's a good thing I have a decent paying day job, plus that bit of luck I had little over a year ago.:)
That's enough rambling for this evening.
Look for another thrilling post tomorrow!
