First off, the
Today you could be in the mood for some celebration and cheer, PHILLIP. Planetary energies will be boosting your energy and making you feel like hanging out with good friends. If there is an excuse to party, you should definitely make use of it! Celebrate a friend's belated birthday, or someone's graduation from a college course. You'll feel good as you lift a glass to toast someone special and indulge in some heartfelt laughter. I think I will raise a glass a bit later, and I'm sure I can think of someone special to toast.

I would have normally been saying something along the lines of "I'm too old for that shit" after my Little Feat Excursion last night, but I'm feeling surprisingly well. I got back home at about 4:30 AM, taking at least three breaks(including a couple of naps), after leaving the venue. It was a great time. I'm used to concerts with jackbooted security guards not allowing anything inside, but this was a very laid back event, people were allowed to bring in coolers, cameras or whatever. Food was sold, and I was very pleasently surprised to find that rather than the usual concert food, they offered pulled pork BBQ sandwiches that were self service, fresh cookies, burgers and hotdogs. I got a pork sandwich (piled fairly high, and doused with lots of sauce), and a Dr. Pepper for under $8. Beer was $2 for a 12 ounce cup.

I bought a shirt and also a few raffle tickets for the Hot Tomato stage backdrop that the band is raffling off as a fund raiser for Habitat for Humanity, proceeds earmarked for Katrina projects. The lady selling them told me that Dave Matthews had announced that he would match whatever Little Feat would take in for it and it was up to $24,000 not including last nights show.

The opening band was out of Portsmouth Ohio, named "The Converiable Blondes". They were pretty good, but the singer was a bit too "Cheerleader-y" for me.

Little Feat took the stage at about 9 PM. Here's the setlist,

Marginal Creatures
Honest Man
Rocket In My Pocket
The Blues Don't Tell it All
Oh Atlanta
Spanish Moon
Feels Like Rain
Texas Twister
Cajun Girl
Willin/Don't Bogart That Joint
Dixie Chicken/Tennesee Jed
Feats Don't Fail Me Now Overall it was a great show. I would of liked to of heard "Down on the Farm/Candyman Blues", and "Callin the Children Home", but I can't complain, other than the fact that there wasn't a taper in sight.

At 11:30 I was back on the road heading towards I-79. I had thought about just getting on 219S and stopping at Mom's, but I remembered that just the stretch of 219 from Marlinton to Lewisburg is a nightmare during daylight, not to mention driving past a haunted battlefield. So I opted to head back the way I came in. I stopped off for some food, then a brief nap at a Walmart parking lot, and about an hour later a longer nap at a rest stop, until a chartered tour bus stopped next to me. I made it back down I-79 and stopped off at a Speedway for coffee and some chewing gum.

I also dropped off a bottle of beer for the homebrew contest next week, and picked up a disposable camera for the show (I'm going to drop it off later today, pics will be posted later)

That's all for now, I'm currently doing some laundry and contemplating venturing out for some food!
