Sooooo....
May. 31st, 2004 06:52 pmI'm sure everyone who reads this has been wondering just what has been going on this weekend. In fact, I'm sure there are people who just couldn't enjoy their Memorial Day weekend since I haven't posted anything since the thrilling onion harvest post. so here we go...
Friday we got a couple of cotton T shirts to wear at work during hot weather, I swept a few amps, grounded one and was working on grounding a second one when I was called off to help with an underground problem. Then it was off to WV to look at some damaged cable and then it was back to Ohio to watch traffic while a guy ran a new line. I stopped off at The China Wok on the way home for some dinner and then it was back to the Friday evening routine. I managed to stay awake until about 1:30 then went to bed.
I got up and proceeded to run some errands. I picked up my ticket to the Appalachain Uprising for next weekend, checked out the Proctorville Flea Market, and went to LaFontaine's and picked up some pipe tobacco, a new pipe, and a cigar for the this evening. I got Lunch at Moe's Southwestern Grill, and came back to the ranch to mow the lawn. I took a break from mowing and made a Sam's Run. Then I hit the pool to officially kick off the summer season.
I didn't really do much of anything, it rained so I couldn't finish the lawn, so I chilled until Race Time. I managed to sleep for about 160 laps of the race without missing much of anything. A pretty wicked storm came thru but nothing I couldn't sleep through.
Over the course of the weekend I also accomplished a couple of things, I took the time to learn how to post photos, and I modified my guitar, (relax
puck_nut, not the Taylor, I don't even change strings myself on it) I now have a Tony Rice Style Modified Sigma
I cut away a big chunk of the soundhole and cut some notches into the braces on the inside. It's got a bit of a mellower more balanced tone. It didn't make me play like Tony Rice, but maybe if I put a snazzy suit on I'll be able to. :)
So now I'm off to sit on the front porch and smoke the cigar I got Saturday.
