captain_philI was out till about 10:30 last night, I actually finished up at around 9:30 or so, but went back to the office and hung out just in case something else happened. I hadn't seen a storm like the one last night in ages. the water was blowing straight across the road. There are still widespread power outages. I really feel for the power company guys when stuff like this happens. They are out there in really crappy conditions, doing dangerous work, plus having people constantly stop and ask "When will the power be back on?"
I just heard on the scanner that the power lines that I found down last night are still down. The power lines came down on our lines and burned the crap out of our distribution, so I spliced it last night while there wasn't much traffic on the road.
Yesterday at work I was on Service, my first two calls were either no problem on arrival, or not home, the next one I felt for, Their Air Conditioning and cable went out at the same time. I tracked it down and fixed it and was on my merry way to the next call, which was a line down. I managed to reach it with a ladder and get it replaced.
That was the extent of my adventures yesterday, other than a couple of routine calls.
